How to use the title case converter

Smart title case rules
Smart mode follows the rules shared by most style guides (AP, Chicago, APA, MLA):
- Capitalize the first and last word, and every noun, verb, adjective, adverb and pronoun.
- Keep articles (a, an, the), short conjunctions (and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet) and short prepositions (at, by, in, of, on, to, up, via) lowercase.
- Capitalize any word that comes right after a colon or dash, as in “Remote Work: The Complete Guide”.
- Capitalize each part of a hyphenated word: “Long-Term Plan”.

- “how to write a great blog post in 5 steps” → “How to Write a Great Blog Post in 5 Steps”
- “nasa launches a new mission” → “NASA Launches a New Mission” (acronym kept when typed in capitals)
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between title case and sentence case?
Title case capitalizes most words (“The Best Way to Learn”). Sentence case capitalizes only the first word and proper nouns (“The best way to learn”).
My text is all in capitals. Will that work?
Yes. When the whole text is uppercase, it is lowercased first and then title-cased, so you get proper capitalization.
Can I convert many titles at once?
Yes. Put each title on its own line.
